Easter 2011

 Happy Easter!  Already...
On Sunday morning we woke up to see what the Easter Bunny had brought and of course hunted for eggs.  Ashtyn is actually scared of the Easter Bunny - or at least the one at the mall - so the night before she asked me to write a note to the Easter Bunny informing him to go ahead and hide eggs, but
DO NOT COME VISIT HER IN HER ROOM!
So I made sure to leave that note along with some carrots and lettuce to enjoy...

Eli thought the snacks left for the Easter Bunny were yummy, so he helped himself to the leftovers...
Ashtyn impressed me with her egg hunting skills.  She found all 16 of them by herself!  She was so excited to see that the Easter Bunny had left her m&m's along with a Little Squishy in each egg!

The Easter Bunny put Eli's eggs on the stairs, which Eli loved!  He crawled right up the stairs to get them.  Inside each egg were Puffs or the biggest surprise ever - a new pacifier!

After hunting, Ashtyn had to line up all her eggs and then counted them...

The Easter Bunny also spoiled the kids with presents.  A drum set for Eli, and Polly Pockets for Ashtyn...
After we finished up at home we were off to church!  This was the first Sunday in our new church and it was amazing.  The place is huge and beautiful, but it still felt like the same ol' Flatirons and I still ran into people I knew.  After church we went to Mimi's for our traditional Easter breakfast and egg hunt...

Again, Ashtyn did great hunting for eggs.  Uncle Kevers was her helper..
Even Mimi helped her find some eggs.  Allie and Mari hid 90 eggs for all of them to find...
Ashtyn LOVES this table at Mimi's house.  It has several small boxes displayed on it from all the different places Mimi has visited.  Ashtyn got a little distracted while egg hunting when she walked by the table - Maybe that's where she got her love for boxes - Mimi!

This typically is Eli's nap time, so he was not really in the mood for anything...

Uncle Kevers with Ashtyn's Easter basket - priceless...
After Mimi's we headed to Matt's parents so the kids could take a nap and we could relax before the next party.  Eli took a 3 hour nap while Ashtyn played.  Afterwards we headed to Pam's for Easter dinner and for another egg hunt.  Last year Ashtyn was over egg hunting by this point, but not this year!  She LOVED getting to run around and find the eggs...

While the kids were hunting, we all enjoyed Apple Martinis - Happy Easter to me!

ALLIE!  Looking like Aunt Lena just sitting in her chair watching...(love you)!

Eli still had no idea how or desire to hunt for eggs, but loved being able to crawl around outside, suck on rocks and eat sticks...

It's crazy to think last year at this time I was pregnant with him, anxiously awaiting his arrival and now he is crawling around and shaking plastic eggs...
We enjoyed our day of Easter with the family, but it sure is exhausting with kids...
Happy Easter from The Trujillo's!
