We started celebrating Halloween on Saturday making cookies, carving pumpkins and going to a party! We were completely worn out by Sunday but had tons of holiday fun...
Ashtyn and Nana made pumpkin and ghost sugar cookies...
While Eli played trucks - he had no interest in cutting cookies out...
But when it came time to decorate the cookies with frosting and sprinkles he jumped right up in his chair. He would put about a handful of sprinkles on the cookie and then proceed to "drink" the rest of the sprinkles out of the bowl and then say "I love it!"
Ashtyn of course is a pro now at making and decorating cookies - I iced the cookies while she added her artistic touch to all of them! Perfect to give away to our school friends...
Matt took a little nap...how nice for him!
After cookie making we grabbed Papa and started the process of carving pumpkins...
Ashtyn LOVED this little pumpkin and drew little pictures all over it - BUT there would be no carving of this pumpkin - still scarred from her first Halloween!
Last year Eli was totally into it - but this year he studied from afar and would not help clean out the pumpkins - he would just repeat "Too dirty"
For a little boy whose face is always a mess - pumpkin carving was not his thing...
It was much colder this year then last and my hands FROZE while cleaning those pumpkins out - hence the glove that didn't help a whole lot!
...and here was our finished product!
After eating some dinner and getting the kids into bed, Matt and I headed to a Halloween Party at the Ohlheiser's house. Halloween is really not my favorite holiday and Matt and I are not big costume people, but we definitely wanted to go party and the only way through the door was in a costume...so my brilliant husband came up with our costume idea...
We were Jason and Stacey Ohlhesier - Construction Worker and Dental Hygienist!
Everyone thought we were SO funny, especially Jason's parents! Todd laughed...
Jason's costume was, well a bit disturbing - but was totally him! He was a Nascar fan, so basically white trash and definitely rocked it! Even wearing Stacey's old jeans cut into shorts...
We had a good time as usual!
Happy Halloween!
