Weekend of Camping

 I never get tired of looking at that view...

We camped out at the lake all weekend...again!  Matt was on call this weekend so we couldn't go far and we are so fortunate to have a beautiful campsite so close.  The water level in the lake is dropping rapidly, so we are guessing this was our last weekend boating and camping for the summer...

 It was very hot this weekend - HOT!  Saturday was a little rough - not going to lie!  We all woke up in bad moods, plus it was hot and we had no boat until my parents came late that afternoon...so we did the best we could to have fun, and ended up playing in the mud...

 After literally rolling in the mud for about a half hour we were still hot and now completely dirty and tired.  So we headed back to the camper, hosed off the kids and Ashtyn thankfully laid down for a nap, while Eli - who was relentless to take a nap - played contently in the sand, while Matt and I enjoyed some cold drinks and relaxed a bit.  After cooling down as much as we could, we decided to head home to refresh and regroup.  We went home and took showers, while the kids relaxed and then headed back to the lake to meet Nana, Papa and Kevers and to have dinner.  We also decided that we needed a generator - dry camping is NO FUN!  So we swung by Home Depot on our way back out and bought one, so our Sunday could be more enjoyable.  Saturday night was very nice and we had a great night sleep.

On Sunday morning Matt putt the generator together and by 10am the AC was running strong - we are so spoiled!  But it did lead to a much more enjoyable day...

 Sunday was more like what we are used to - swimming, boating and relaxing.  Even though the weekend started out a little rough it ended perfectly.  Now we are getting ready to spend a whole week at the Lake of the Ozarks - not looking forward to the 13 hour drive with a busy, crazy one year old, but definitely looking forward to spending time exploring a new place with a family I love so much.
